Responsiveness is our commitment to clinicians and APP Pharmaceuticals has worked hard to ensure the abundant supply of this critically needed drug.  As soon as APP learned of the propofol shortage from the FDA Drug Shortage office, we acted decisively to increase supplies to the U.S. market. 

• APP increased production of the branded product, Diprivan®, and our authorized generic Propofol by 127%
• APP expedited distribution with continual air freight shipments into the U.S. to support increased demand

Nearly two years ago, the propofol drug shortage began as two other manufacturers issued voluntary recalls.  Today, while the healthcare industry is plagued with an unprecedented number of drug shortages, APP Pharmaceuticals is proud to have played a significant role in resolving this critical shortage.
